Barney

We have a special new member of our little family – Barney! For a bunch of different reasons, all of which I won’t go into right now, we have been thinking of getting a new dog for a while. One of the biggest reasons is that the Mr. really wanted a dog who was friendly and playful (where Cassie is shy and timid). Another big reason is that a few different people have recommended us to get another dog in order to help Cassie’s confidence.

I have to tell you, Barney fits right into our lives. It was love at first sight when we saw him get off the dog transport (he came to us all the way from Arkansas!). I am pretty sure his tail hasn’t stopped wagging since he got here, and he is a happy go lucky guy who wants to be petted as much as possible.

Cassie and Barney have been getting along great. I have noticed already how Cassie is watching and learning from Barney. He came in from being out with the Mr. and shook off his coat to get rid of the snow. Cassie, who hadn’t been out looked at him and instantly started shaking off her coat as well! It was adorable.

We let Barney relax and get settled for a few days (we think he was really sore from the trip up here – at first we thought it was a potential hip problem, but on Monday he was running and walking without a care).

We decided to take a quick walk on Monday. Both him and Cassie were thrilled to be walking, and it was great to see them happily walking side by side.
