This week I was supposed to leave for Houston on Halloween (Wednesday). With the approaching “Frankinstorm” we decided to switch our flights and fly out on Sunday. I won’t go into the nitty gritty details, but will say that after hitting 4 airports, talking to the ticketing agents for hours at a time, and crossing our fingers that standby flights would go through, we made it. It is a victory – we (my Mom and I) won’t have to miss out on any of the engagements we have while here, and we will be able to see my aunt.
At the same time, we both feel a little bad about leaving our people at home to fend during this storm. We have been constantly checking weather and getting updates about Sandy, and we are crossing our fingers, hoping it won’t be as bad as they say it might be.
Anyway, the end result is that I am in Houston and getting in immersed in the quilt world – something that I haven’t done in quite a while!
