When the Mr. goes to night class on Tuesdays, I usually go spend some quality time with my parents (and do laundry at their house). This week I went over there to finish the chairs that I started over the weekend. While I finished the chairs, the heavenly scent of warm garlic started to really make me hungry.
When I asked my Dad what was cooking he opened the oven and showed garlic bread toasting there. But this wasn’t just any garlic bread, it was definitely unique – the bread was hambuger buns. My Dad explained that it was his way of using up the hamburger buns from the summer. In case of an improptu BBQ, they keep frozen hamburger buns in the freezer over the summer. Now that summer is over they no longer have need for the frozen buns to be taking up space in the freezer.
Ingredients to make these guys:
- Frozen hamburger buns (butter spreads more easily when they are hard and frozen)
- Butter/margerine
- Garlic
- Salt and Pepper to taste
Add the ingredients in the order listed to the buns, and then pop them in the oven and let them broil on low until they are crispy around the edges. Trust me – these are well worth trying if you are a fan of garlic bread!
Thanks Dad!

Thanks Dad

Dads – Gotta love them!
