The Thursday night before the wedding we had all of the friends who had arrived from out of town over to our house for a backyard cookout and party. We wanted a chance to really say hello and thank all of our friends for coming to the wedding – at our age it isn’t easy to take time off and/or travel for a wedding. We did have a good number of people from the MA area, but many of our guests travelled pretty far to get to the wedding. There were people from Ireland, England, Australia, New Zealand, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Tennessee, Connecticut, New Hampshire… (I think I got them all…). It was great to reconnect with my friends who live far away, as well as meet some of the husband’s friends who I had never had the opportunity to meet before. My favorite part of the night was the “sing song” that happened after there had been a “few” rounds of drinks. Although I had heard about this happening, it was cool to actually be a part of one! I took a video, which you can watch by clicking this link. (ps. Sorry Gary… I think I thought you were playing the guitar during this one!)
Here are some other snapshots from the night (I was having too much fun to take too many pictures!):
