A Week Away

It is hard to believe that a year ago the fiancé and I began to think about our wedding day.  It was a year off at that point, and I never really thought that it would happen. So imagine my surprise as I am going to my final dress fitting, hanging out with the fiancé’s family who are over from Ireland, and doing my final hair trials.

I am so excited that the wedding is a week away, but I keep thinking “How did this year go by so fast?!”

The night the fiancé became the fiancé… :D

Wedding week starts tomorrow, and I couldn’t be happier. I just hope this time doesn’t fly by as fast as this year! I apologize in advance – I expect in the next two weeks I will be fairly busy and might not have time to blog everyday. But I will try to update you all as many times as I can!

For those of you flying/driving/traveling in for the wedding, I can’t wait to see you!!

Baby Alpacas!

Last evening, while the fiancé and his brother went to play golf, I took Clare and the kids over to meet the alpacas. Our first stop was to say hi to my grandparents, and to try on Sophie’s flower girl dress to make sure it fit. It looks great!

My grandfather treated us to a golf cart ride to go and meet the alpacas. It was especially exciting because there were two new baby alpacas born over the weekend!

Sophie was a bit shy of the alpacas, but Shane jumped right in the pen and started petting and playing with the baby alpacas. Then my cousins John, Elizabeth, and Paul came to play as well.

One thing Sophie did love was the little finger puppets my grandparents gifted both her and Shane from the alpaca store. Watch this quick video to see an impromptu puppet show!

Kimball Farm with the kids

The fiancé and I are no stranger to Kimball farms, we love to go there. But it was really cool to go with the kids to see it through their eyes. We had a lot of fun! We did just about everything, from the bumper boats to the batting cages eating ice cream!

They Arrived!

We are so excited because the first of the McClellands have arrived for the wedding! One of the fiance’s brothers and his family flew in last night. It is their first time in the US (and it was the first time that the kids have been on a plane ever.) Needless to say it is a pretty big deal!

They came in last night and we had a quick pizza dinner, enjoyed the weather by sitting outside, and went to my parents for a quick meet. Today we are going to be having a lot of fun (well, they will be having fun all day, I will be having fun after work!) and I will be sure to let you know what we get up to!

Sorry about the no picture post – in my excitement I forgot to take pictures yesterday!

And it Begins!

The day is finally here – and the fiancé couldn’t be more excited. This afternoon (after what is surely going to be a looong day at work) the first 4 members of the fiancé’s family come over from Ireland.

We have been running around, trying to get everything ready. As of today we know that everything is going to start to fly by. Last night we went to bed, finally satisfied that we had done everything in our power to get the house ready. A big thanks to my parents and Aunt and Uncle (and their kids!) for helping us and letting us borrow the beds/bedding/towels that we needed. :)
