Over the weekend I started on the downstairs bathroom. The fiancé helped me take down the lights, the ugly towel rack, and the toilet roll dispenser. From there this was my project, and I set out to paint the blue bathroom white. I figured since the blue was so light, a few coats of white paint would do the trick – I couldn’t have been more wrong. I also thought since the bathroom was such a small space I would have the painting done within an hour or two, once again I was wrong. I now appreciate the work my Dad did on the upstairs bathroomeven more – thanks Dad!
The bathroom has become the most difficult room I have painted yet. It is full of little nooks and crannies, which make it hard to get a roller or a paint brush in to paint. Therefore it has taken much longer than expected, especially since two coats of white paint later there is still a blue tint to the walls. Since it was so humid on Saturday when I painted, I wasn’t able to add a third coat. I tested one spot and the first two layers of white paint started to just come right off. So I left it to sit, and still have to go back in and add one more coat sometime this week.
I also haven’t tackled the radiator (or behind it) since I know that it is going to be a bit tricky. I will leave that for last, along with the vanity. The fiancé and I have decided to paint the vanity black, so I am excited to move onto the project but won’t realistically get to it until this weekend at the earliest. I will keep you updated on the progress, but in the meantime, here are some photos of the bathroom (sans the third coat of paint) as it is right now. See what I mean about the blue showing through?

Great progress. Lets talk about the third coat of white …. I have an idea.
Dad
Thanks! Sure thing – any ideas/advice you have are welcome!
